Who are we looking for?

We are looking for experienced Disability Support Workers in Sydney who have qualifications in mental health and/or paid work experience in the disability or mental health fields and are compassionate and enthusiastic about making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities. We prefer to work with Support Workers who have confidence in driving and transporting Participants in their vehicle, have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build rapport and trust with Participants, work under pressure, always maintain professional boundaries when supporting the Participants, and be patient while providing support.

Role Description: The Disability Support Worker is responsible for assisting participants in achieving NDIS goals, supporting them with community inclusion, independence, decision making, and personal choice should be promoted through these supports, with a focus on individual needs. Additionally, they are responsible for supporting Participants with their daily activities and routines, personal hygiene, and transporting Participants to and from their medical appointments and outings.

Note: This job advertisement is for a Contractor Position that requires Support Workers to work with their ABN. All job applicants are required to address the above requirements in their cover letter. We will only contact the shortlisted applicants.

What do we need from the successful candidates?

  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
  • Current Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • 100 Points of ID
  • Public Liability Insurance minimum $10,000,000 – or willingness to obtain.
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance minimum $250.000 AUD – or willingness to obtain.
  • Personal Accident Insurance (In the amount earned weekly) – Recommended.
  • Unrestricted Driver License (NSW Full Driver License preferred)
  • Reliable own vehicle that is registered in NSW, with a minimum of Third-Party Motor Vehicle Insurance. (Comprehensively insured vehicles preferred).
  • Willingness to transport participants.
  • Australian National Criminal Check Clearance (We prefer it to be renewed every 3 years)
  • NDIS Worker Check Clearance (Every 5 Years)
  • Working with Children Check Clearance (Every 5 Years)
  • Current First Aid + CPR Training Certificate (CPR Refreshed Annually – First Aid every 3 Years)
  • All Mandatory NDIS Training Module Certificates (Refreshed Annually)
  • Infection Control Training Module (Refreshed Annually)
  • Cert III or above in Mental Health, Individual Support, Aged Care, or a relevant field
  • Full COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
